Shaming companies

OK. I’ve had enough.

I’ve been brushed aside now so many times it’s unreal, and for no fucking good reason. Therefore it’s time to name and shame.

Todays fuckup fairy visited Bloc Media. Their excuse for brushing me aside, in their words:

didn't have a sufficiently recent enough track record within new media industries. Also, we were looking for someone with greater experience.

There are several problems with this statement:

  1. I suppose 2 and a bit years in a newspaper company's internal new media division more or less heading up some of the development ...

Mallorca for an overnight is so wrong!

I should have stayed… I really should have, alas sadly I didn’t have any spare clothes or a place to stay.
break>
Flew out to Mallorca at the request of e3 for a meeting, which turned out to be a rather productive 2 days in the end.

The problem is that I now want to go out there on a more permanent basis and escape the rat race of London. In recent months I’ve been feeling a little depressed about the possibility continued existence in the UK. I seem to have had to fall into the roll of ...

Camilla's DIlemma

As Camilla was making last-minute preparations to walk down the aisle, she found that her shoes were missing. She was forced to borrow her sister’s, which were a bit on the small side.
break>
When the day’s festivities were finally over, Charles and Camilla
retired to their room, right next door to the Queen’s and Prince
Phillip’s. Because of the type of construction done following the
Windsor Castle fire, the adjoining walls were made of plasterboard.

As soon as Charles and Camilla were inside their room, Camilla flopped on the bed and said, “Darling, please get ...

Job hunting sucks...

Well, due to a fuckup in Talk24, I’m job hunting a bit sharpishly…

I hate it… I really do. It’s the politeness of it all. When in reality recruiters and agents couldn’t really give a shit about you or your career, and the employers have so many levels of bureaucracy it’s amazing that they even get anything done, let alone find any talented people when the pissant asswanking handbags that HR people generally tend to be, weed out the “unclean untalented” with little more than a checklist from on high.

Take me for example. I have ...

Goodies from OUT

On her US radio show, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22 and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura posted on the Internet.

Dear Dr. Laura,

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18 ...

Dead frogs and prostitutes

Young boy carrying a dead frog on a piece of string bounds up to the door of a brothel and walks in. The madam at the door tries to send him away but he is not to be moved. Instead, he takes out £1000 and says “This is all the money that has been saved for me and I’ll give it all to you if you let me fuck a prostitute with gonorrhoea.” The madam argues with the boy but he is undeterred. He insists that he wants to sleep with a prostitute who has gonorrhoea. All the while ...

I've no idea why...

…but I found this hilarious:

“Bother,” said Pooh, “Eeyore, ready two photon torpedoes and lock phasers on the Heffalump. Piglet, meet me in transporter room three. Christopher Robin, you have the bridge.”

Thanks Elijah :)

Poor delusional people...

It seems someone has decided to add to my random witterings.

God knows how they did it… and to be honest, I don’t give a shit… however I feel I must comment at this point.

The deviant in question decided to post a comment noting “For someone who’s supposed to work in IT I’d suggest you might want to read up on security!!!”

1. This site is on a shared hosting system for a reason. It means I don’t need to worry about another box getting rooted and bad things [tm] happening.

2. It’s a ...

I’m sooo glad that’s over with now.

I’ve moved again. This time to Canary Wharf… Have taken some night shots for your perusal. This is my current favourite.

This is unreal...

This story highlights the American milirary's "Thow something fucking huge at them..." philosophy on countering anti-war protestors...

I love the excuse the military made… How often do you see tanks driving past you?! Mmmmhmmmmmmm… my thoughts exactly.

Observations

Okay, so Saturday night, some friends and I go out for dinner/movie/drinkies etc, come home to my place, make a total mess of the flat and have a really good time in the process…

So, Sunday comes, it’s afternoon, after seeing everyone off to the station we’re on our way home, and I spot this.

Needless to say, I giggled heartily.

Men, be warned!

Police are warning all men who frequent clubs, parties and local pubs to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink from any woman.

Many females use a date rape drug on the market called “Beer”. The drug is found in liquid form and available anywhere. It comes in bottles, cans, from taps and in large “kegs”. ‘Beer’ is used by female sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade their male victims to go home and have sex with them.

A woman needsto get a man to consume only a few units of ‘Beer’ and then simply take ...

Doom3. Oh. My. God.

Yes. Oh. My. God.

This is a truly beautiful game. The reviews and praise is well deserved. Where there original Doom is known all over the world to everyone, so shall this.

And no, before you bitches start complaining that I’m talking about the graphics no I’m not. I’m talking about gameplay too. Atmosphere, Sound Effects and the plethora of other subtleties that are involved in the expirience of a game.

Ok, so this game is a shoot-em-up, which means that you have to go kill things, and yes after a while, this kind of game can ...

If someone's going to do it, the americans will...

Woke up this morning (with normalised sleeping patterns… YAY!) to be quite literally rolling over laughing after reading this lovely article on the new Diebold electronic touchscreen voting platform the US Government are going to use for the elections later this year… and the article quite clearly states that it is so simple to bypass the security on the system that a monkey can do it… So a monkey did it… and apparently there footage showing monkey deleting the audit log.
I find this to be fucking hilarious… I mean a voting platform based on Microsoft Access no less! I ...

Random hours

Waking up at random hours of the morning is prooving to be really bad for my bank account.

This mornign’s purchase is Doom3. Although I did look for the cheapest people to buy from… Additionally, I purchased train tickets to go back to Swansea on the 8th. Meh…

Ofcourse the Doom3 is the most significant purchase since it implies upgrades if it doesn’t play properly on my system… :(

Bah!

Drupal fuckedness fixed

Okay, so for the past month or so, the RSS feed for my site has been fucked. Why?

Because when I migrated from my limited custom codebase to drupal, I had to hack a fix because Drupal’s cache system wasn’t deliverying headers properly.

I’ve fixed this and the fix is here.
