good thing or bad thing?

Well, I’ve finally gotten round to updating the CV. Not because I’m looking for a job, but just a cursory update to keep things in line…

After the update, I just sat around and read what my CV actually says and whether it’s still relevant, and I’m absolutely shcoked at the amount of stuff I’ve forgotten or can’t remember anything about anymore. Looking at my CV there is alot of SHIT on there that I can remember doing, and setting up, but then having thought about it, I can’t remember the slightest thing ...

I'm not well

I feel awful.

I’ve had a massive headache for the past 2 days and today, my stomache decides it wants to ponder venting it’s contents astern, or somewhere inbetween the pilothouse and the stern.

It really doesn’t help that I am having to debug serial issues again.

God I hate serial interfaces. Why oh why do manufacturers use them…? there are far better interfaces available. Ones that give feedback as to state and transmission errors… Ethernet for example.

So yes. I’m ill…

On the plus side, there’s 17 days between me and a holiday. I ...

Work is good. I’m really enjoying the new job, because it combines what I love doing – working on complex data and voice networks – with travelling.

For the past 5 days, I’ve been onsite in a shipyard in the South of France, La Ciotat, working on a small charter cruise ship.

It was a fantastic time. Despite much frustration with networks and an extremely complex network for such a small boat, I had a great time. The crew were fantastic and incredibly hospitable, even though they didn’t have to, which made the job all the more fun to ...

I’ve moved!

YAY ME!

I’ve moved to Mallorca for a job playing with funky technology in a really funky environment.

The funny thing is that my boss put me up temporarily in gay hotel. It’s a bit loud and grotty, but it’s a roof over my head, and it’s cheap, considering I’m paying for it for the moment. Sadly there’s a distinct lack of totty.

I’m due to go find someplace to rent tomorrow or Monday, and I’ll be going out wandering with a Camera tomorrow, so there’ll be plenty ...

I’ve not done it in ages and am finding it difficult to express what’s on my mind. I’ve already re-written the start of this post a few times and I’m wondering what, if anything is the reason for this.
