Okay so last saturday I asked theo to get me ADSL with anlx, which he’s done [thanks [theo] ;)]... Anyway, I ordered some ADSL kit (modem [kinda important don’t ‘cha think?], microfilters, etc…) and that came this tuesday… We like dslsource.co.uk…

Anyway, I got the shiney new grey frog (yes, I said grey… it’s a "special edition") and plugged it all in and got it all happy with smoothie…

Here’s the torturous part: I can’t use it! BT haven’t enabled the line for ...

Interesting invenstments of incremental idiocracy

Sometimes I look at my code and think why the hell am I doing this. You see at the moment I’m getting ALOT of ideas and then writing some POC code and then forgetting about it, only to return to it 6 months later and think GOD what the hell was I doing.

So what is it this time… Well twas a little challenge [theo] inadvertantly setup for me, which has to do with NNTP servers (News Servers to the who’s at home).

Okay, it’s confirmed. I’m sad…

I’ve perfected and stabilised my indexing algorithm, and reduced the seek time in the process… removed a few uncessesary loops and stuff… it’s now stable as hell and even fixes index discrepancies on the fly.

Although it’s just an algorithm ATM, it should be trivial to build an NNTP protocol handler…

Hmmmm...

I’m thinking of giving up development and concentrating on design… I seem to be getting better at it… here’s the proof… IE Only at the moment, but not bad for 2 hours work… Needs a bit of tweaking, also needs a few more content styles but the base is there… Images need cleaning up too.

So? What’s with this change then? Well not alot really… I just seem to be able to "knock up" designs that are bleeding edge and look faily decent. here’s more proof.

Not sure yet… the problem is there’s too many ...
